Jennifer has a long and rich history in the Air Medical field. I asked Jennifer to tell me her story, so in her own words:
“My Road to REGION 7 MSM Position has been filled with many wonderful twists and turns, highs and lows!
I was runner up in the selection process, then the first candidate quit after 3 days. That was the beginning of my career in the Emergency Medical Transport Field. I accepted the position as Executive Assistant to AirMedTeam’s Program Manager, Shayln Prudomme in Redding California.
In 2004 the base name was AirMedTeam. After a change in the base name to REACH5, Jim Adams, CEO approached me to assist in initiating and developing an air ambulance membership program for REACH Air Medical Services. I represented REACH Air Medical Services as their sole Membership Coordinator through 2010. During that time I was instrumental in the development of the REACH for Life membership program, which included creating marketing materials, coordinating data management and facilitating community relations.
Growing the membership program, I worked hard to build business relationships in the Northern and Southern CA Community. Networking through Sunrise Rotary, Chambers of Commerce, Northern Business Associates, and Northern Women in Business proved to be fruitful endeavors. I also worked to build productive relationships with other medical transport companies within our footprint.
During my tenure I was afforded the opportunity to and served honorably as President of the Annual Drive For Kids Golf Tournament, founded by the medical crew at AirMedTeam/REACH5. The primary focus of the golf tournament was to raise funds for medical equipment to be donated to under privileged children in the North State.
In 2009 I was recognized by my REACH colleagues with an award in Customer Service Excellence.
After proudly serving REACH for 6 years, a restructuring and consolidation resulted in the elimination of my position as REACH for Life Coordinator. I was offered continued REACH employment in Santa Rosa, CA, however relocating from Redding did not work for me at that time.
From 2010 to 2013 I worked in the Diabetes Care Center at Shasta Regional Medical Center.
REACH was acquired by AMGH in 2012, and in May, 2013 a Membership Sales Manager position for REGION 7 became available. Suzie Smith, RN and Jon Slane, Pilot informed me of the position and encouraged me to apply. Without any hesitation, I applied. I was hired by Greg Dahms and attended NEO in May 2013.
As I started to re-foster the business relationships that I had developed as REACH for Life Coordinator, I was reminded of the importance of building a strong networking foundation. Most of the relationships I had built again proved to be beneficial with marketing AirMedCare Network in REGION 7. Those relationships continue to support growth in my productivity as a MSM.
My time at Cal-Ore Life Flight/REACH Air Medical Services could not have been as productive and successful as it has been without the support and friendship from all team members, management and crew. Thank you all for your help and sincere support over the years.
Some things outside of work that help me maintain perspective are my husband of 19 years, Patrick (Paddy), two dogs, Casey and Cool Joe, gardening and traveling back to South Africa on a regular basis to visit my family.
Happy 10th Anniversary, REACH for Life, you’ve been a good friend.”
Jennifer is an inspiration to her teammates, and has continually raised the bar across every aspect of her work. She is fun and friendly, enthusiastic and down to earth. I personally am proud to call her my friend!
Congrats Jenn, well deserved!
